The Stories, Legends, and Myths of the Living Immortals

The mythology of the Greeks is, perhaps, second only to that of the Romans in the realm of ancient Myth and Legend from pre-Christian Europe. It has been the focus of a great many scholars and psychiatrists, feminist authors and neo-Pagan reworkings, as well as fiction writers of all types. As a result, more has been said about their myths and legends than about almost any other ancient peoples. Say the name Zeus, or Apollo, and the image created by them is clearly Greek. To our great shame, however, that is becoming less obvious in America today, a land whose educational system seems to have little time for anything resembling Classics.

My point here is not to retell Myths you are already familiar with, though certainly I will retell a few, but to explore some of the concepts in myth that may be a bit controversial or perhaps viewed very differently by different people.
