Day Two

The second day of Sunset sees me waking just before sunrise. I light the candle at Hestia’s altar and say a welcoming prayer to the Virgin Goddesses.

To the children of Hyperion I light a candle in my eastern window and beside it I set a soapstone burner with three incense sticks burning within.

Blessed Children of the Light
We welcome you this day.
Bright Helios traveling far.
Bright Selene moving away before you.
Eos the herald opening the gates.

Watch us and warm us and give us your light.
Let nature rejoice in your coming.

I light a candle at the altar of Aphrodite and offer incense to Ourania, the divine love so pure and bright. To Hera, Queen of Heaven, to Zeus the King, and to Apollo the bearer of light I offer too, that they may grant me a day of healing and peace.

Before I set off to work I call on Olympian Hermes and to Athena Nike, that I may face the day with strength and guile.

Blessings to all.

Please share your experiences with
me, I would love to post them here on this blog.
