Day Three

Today is the final day of Sunset, and on this day I am honoring the great Chthonic Gods in their aspects as givers of riches and sustainers of life. Ge, Persephone, Hekate, Hermes Psychopompos, Nyx, Hades, Dionysos, and Aphrodite the Dark. In addition, on this day I am remembering people, in my life and in the life of my family and nation, who have died. Seeking to remember the good times and the good will of those who have made an impact in my life and who are no longer here.

On a personal note, I am remembering a lost love, Tony Martinez, who I loved so dearly, passed away so many years ago leaving me destroyed. It is not something I speak of often, but on this day I feel like I need to bring him to mind and almost see him laughing in front of me.

I also wanted to remember my uncle Alejandro (Alexander) Ortiz who passed just last year and who was an important part of my life as I grew into manhood. With no father to really call my own, I have to say that he was probably the closest I came to having a such a figure in my life, and I can't say how badly it feels that he is no longer here, or that I never had the chance to tell him he was an influence on my life in a way he may never have realized. He wasn't related to me by blood, but he was family.

I am grateful for these people.
