Day Six
In honor of Ge and Demeter, this day is given over to their honor as mothers.
Blessed Ge as mother of the world, is honored and thanked, but further, is beseeched as we begin to enter a new phase in the festival, the phase of hope. Beseech her blessings for the future, her protection in the cold winter.
Demeter is honored as mother of Persephone. The harvest of the corn has ended, and her soulful pain at the loss of her daughter is at its height.
Offer up incense, pour into the Earth, allow the power of the great mothers to wash over you.
Prepare on this day for the day to come, by cooking, cleaning, arranging flowers, for come morning, the sun will rise anew.
