Honoring the Gods of Olympus

Day Three

This day is reserved for the honoring of the Earthly or Chthonic Gods as givers of riches.

While the Chthonic Gods are often seen as connected to the underworld, and therefore to death, they are also givers of life from the earth. Nurturing life in the fertile earth, and bearers of the riches of the earth itself. The Great Mother Gaea herself is known as Chthon.

The Great Mother, Hekate, Hermes, Dionysos, Ephesian Artemis, Rhea, mother of the Gods, Demeter, Persephone, and many others are honored for their gifts, and rightfully given thanks.

Chthonic offerings are traditionally offered into the earth. Buried or poured into the earth itself.
